The Creation Story of Flat Rhonda’s Universe
It all started with a fan.
Not the kind who screams from the front row at a concert (though we’ve had a few of those since). This was a literal hand fan at a trade show in 2022. Flat Rhonda was born in the aisles of that show—tucked into swag bags, waving from booths, and quickly becoming more than just a clever giveaway.
The moment was electric. People weren’t just picking up the fan—they were asking for selfies with it. They wanted autographs. (Yes, Flat Rhonda signed them all: “Thanks for being a fan.”) That one promo idea turned into a movement. By the end, over 1,500 fans shipped out to happy clients—each enclosed in an envelope stamped with the unforgettable line: Fan Mail Enclosed.
From Garden Buzz to Full Cast
But like all great sitcoms, one star wasn’t enough.
In 2025, as the Rhonda HQ garden came to life and real bees buzzed around, the Flat Rhonda Universe expanded. Enter the bees—comic relief, buzzworthy co-stars, and now official members of the FRU lineup.
Soon the universe grew into a full cast of characters:
• The Bee-Bop Band
• Fred the Frog, lounging in paradise
• Plaidley Cooper, our fashion-forward hive mate
• Stuart, the reluctant mascot who’d rather nap than adventure
And because no universe is complete without merch, Flat Rhonda began starring on pins, mugs, coasters, and stickers. Dioramas brought sitcom-style scenes to life—The Office, the Park, the Beach—each adding another layer to the story.
Non-Negotiable Curls & Promo Drama
One thing became clear: Flat Rhonda’s curls and neon vibe are non-negotiable.
When Cracker Barrel’s rebrand made headlines, the Universe responded with its own rallying cry:
“Rebranding? I think not. Flat Rhonda’s curls are here to stay.”
Because icons don’t get makeovers—they get story arcs.
